Recommit to the Anti-Ballistic Missle Treaty

Recommit to the Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty. In order to have a serious discussion with nations like Iran and North Korea about limiting nuclear technology and weapons, we need to lead by example.

Support Democracy in Pakistan

Send a clear message to the Pakistani people that we support democracy in their country by empowering dissenting voices like Bhutto, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Nawaz Sharif. Attach some strings to the billions we're sending over in aid by DEMANDING that whoever the President is, they kill or capture Bin Laden and al-Zawahiri.

Multinationalize the Fuel Cycle

The next administration should implement a universal rule for all countries that says that if a country is going to make fuel for a nuclear reactor, it must do it in an international context, to ensure that this material is not used to make weapons.

A New Direction for America On Day One

On Day One, the President should make it clear that America is moving in a new direction in which we follow the rules of war, denounce secret prisons, denounce torture, and collaborate with others. We need to adopt a new approach in order to deal with nuclear weapons so that they eventually disappear.

Banish nuclear weapons - forever!

Disarm and dismantle all nuclear weapons. Yes, unilaterally! Lead an aggressive diplomacy effort to bring about global disarmament of nuclear weapons. This means we stop being the world's greatest terrorist, and lead the world by example in how to make peace, not war. The world is not safe from annihilation as long as nuclear weapons exist. This ban should also apply to depleted uranium munitions: use of depleted uranium must be banned. We must stop poisoning Iraq and the world with DU!

Parity for Peace

Fund the State Department and the National Endowment for the Arts on a par with the Department of Defense. We have to learn to get along with other people (that's what the State Department is for) and to do that we have to understand them (art works well for that.)

Nuclear weapons are

Nuclear weapons are devastating. I have been to the Hiroshima museum and learned of the horrors, first the immediate deaths, then the deaths that happen within days, and finally, the long-term effects that survivors struggle with for the rest of their lives. We do not need to produce more nuclear weapons. We need to dismantle existing supplies. It will be a beautiful day when the world is rid of every nuclear weapon, without anymore being fired. I hope to see this in my lifetime.

We need a strong defensive

We need a strong defensive military, but we make the world less stable and safe by continuing to stockpile nuclear weapons. Our best bet for lasting peace is to secure strong, long-term nuclear non-proliferation agreements among all nations and spread good will around the world by helping people less well off than ourselves in dramatic and concrete ways.

Truly what are we thinking?

Truly what are we thinking? While we are threatening other countries over imaginary nuclear weapons, at the same time we continue to stock pile them---what, is the rest of the world stupid or just our own people who allow and believe this??? And let's take it a step further, if we attack these people with nuclear weapons do we really believe that we will then be able to go in and take their oil and use it? Have we lost sight of the fact of what nuclear does---??? We must return to sanity and
