Get the 9/11 Families the REAL investigation they -and we- deserve!

The same 9/11 widows etc. who made the 9/11 Commission happen have now made the film 9/11 Press for Truth (view below) showing it was a whitewash. NY Times reporter Philip Shenon's new book The Commission reveals that much "evidence" came from torture and that Commission Exec. Director Philip Zelikow was joined at the hip with Condi Rice, consulted with Karl Rove during the investigation and then had those phone logs suppressed! Let's get a real investigation NOT controlled by politicians.

One day one- do the opposite of Bush and Promote Women's Human Rights

One of the first things Bush did on his first day in office was to reinstate the "Global Gag Rule" . The Global Gag Rule has cut funding for many, many women's rights NGOs around the world, thus undermining all women's rights. I would like to see, as a symbolic and literal opposite of what Bush did on his first day, the new President unsign the Global Gag Rule on her or his first day. I think it will serve the new President well to do the opposite of what Bush did on his day one on their day one

End The Broken Politics in Washington

We need to end the empty rhetoric, turn the page on the failed politics and policies of the past, and end the status quo in Washington. Change. That's the most important idea for our next president.

Agrarian Practices

Our foolish rush to ethanol is seeing the encreased demise of old growth forest upon the globe. While I advocate the usage of Industrial Hemp for our paper and wood product usage, there is another alternative. Bamboo, with varieties that can be grown at 50 degrees latitude is an excellent plant for eco usage. The carbon sequesterian abilites and range of this plant is almost as universal as Hemp itself. I call for the Secretary of Agriculture, to launch a study in the benefits of Bamboo.

Take a very careful look at Iran

We now have a new opportunity with Iran. The next president should:

1. Open up talks with Iran WITHOUT any preconditions

2. Deal directly with the Iranian nuclear threat by proposing to create a multinational enrichment facility inside Iran that uses Iranian technology

3. Incorporate a very thorough inspection system of Iranian nuclear facilities

These initial nuclear talks allow us an opening to negotiate with the Iranians on the host of other issues that we've been neglecting

Solve the War in Iraq or Get Out, and how about some reparations?

The next President needs to solve the war in Iraq, and do it within a week, or we need to leave. The next President should also demand some reparations for the work that the US has done to liberate the country-- perhaps hand us over one or two of their oil fields to bring down the price of oil.
