Announce plans for a food garden on the White House lawn, making one of the White House's eight gardeners responsible for it, with part of produce going to the White House kitchen and the rest to a local food pantry. The White House is "America's House" and should set an example. The new President would not be breaking with tradition, but returning to it (the White House has had vegetable gardens before) and showing how we can meet global challenges such as climate change and food security.

Continue to place proper emphasis on developing and finding alternate energy sources. We need to set better priorities and focus our efforts. We can achieve great things if we set clear goals and utilize the proper resources to attain those goals

The next President needs to convince the American people that we are going to have to make sacrifices to effectively fight global warming.

We need to mend fences and become better global citizens by decreasing our pollution.

Every country needs to pitch in- we need international cooperation to combat climate change.

Public transit in most parts of the United States is abysmal. On Day One, the next president should start an initiative to help smaller cities get funding to build or improve public transit systems. This will help alleviate the massive traffic problems faced in so many places, reduce dependence on oil, reduce drunk driving problems, create a stronger sense of community among strangers, and help to alter the outdated patterns of development that are killing our country's natural beauty.

On Day One, the next president should abolish the Bureau of Public Affairs and Public Diplomacy in the State Department and replace it with a Bureau of Multi-American Affairs. This bureau would bring together leaders of civil society groups to help solve the specific challenges that America is seeking to address in world, such as climate change, post-conflict reconstruction, poverty alleviation, and public health.

First of all we need to drive electric vehicles that would be a major step. We also need to tax the rich to pay for all the changes that must take place concerning global warming. Second for those who cannot afford to buy these vehicles we need to put people to work cleaning the landfills. Yes you heard me right- cleaning out landfills and teaching people to recycle. Hey what about putting people to work doing this .Then we can farm the land and stop building more holmes that we can do without.
