Nothing good has come from Guantanamo Bay-- Close it!

The next President should announce support for Robert Zubrin's Energy Victory policy that all new cars sold in the United States be flex-fuel vehicles that can run on ethanol and methanol. Achievable for just $100 a car, this helps the environment and the third world poor, while helping to break OPEC.

Language matters. We've done a disservice to the Muslim world and the intelligence of all Americans by oversimplifying all of these conflicts -- Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and others -- under the guise of one war. These conflicts are largely movements that are using Islam as a political tool to advance their political agendas, and confronting them requires a disaggregated approach that sees them for the distinct conflicts that they are.

We can improve our image in the world by ending our war OF terrorism on peoples of the Middle East and on Arabs and Muslims, as well as getting our military troops out of the Middle East

Iraq is a test of American values and American resolve. This country used to stand for the proposition that we would bear any burden in the pursuit of freedom in the world. We cannot go back on that promise. We must continue to support and defend democratic movements in Iraq and continue to work towards the goal of a peaceful, democratic and tolerant Iraq. We cannot do that by walking away. To do so would be sign that our democratic values mean nothing.

Focus on the reasons, the cause of the terrorism. Fighting them on the front lines won't matter, as we've seen countless times. All we are doing is breeding the next generation of people who hate America. The war in Iraq has now bred a whole new era of hatred. Back off. Support democracies in the ME like Israel, but don't be afraid to challenge them when they are heading in the wrong direction.

The U.S. should immediately begin redeploying its troops from Iraq and declare it does not intend to maintain military bases permanently in Iraq. A swift strategic redeployment from Iraq, coordinated with Iraq's government, gives the U.S. the best chance to revitalize its ground forces now stretched too thin to address growing threats on other fronts in the fight against terrorist groups...
