Americans need to think of themselves as global citizens and collaborate with other citizens and nations in the world-- We can't afford to go it alone!

The next president should make sure he restores peace in the Middle East.

We need to end the empty rhetoric, turn the page on the failed politics and policies of the past, and end the status quo in Washington. Change. That's the most important idea for our next president.

On Day One of the next president's term, Kate believes that he or she should overturn funding for abstinence education because it is not scientifically and socially proven to address the problem.

On Day One the next president should repeal the global gag rule, stop killing women unnecessarily and save women's lives.

On Day One, the new administration must take action to immediately end the genocide in Darfur and the U.S. occupation of Iraq, and to empower women and girls in order to protect them from the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.

To reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, the next president should set a cap on how much greenhouse gases can be in the environment and then use a trading regime to achieve reductions. By calling for this step with clear leadership and commitment, the president will signal to the market that it is time to start looking for carbon-free alternatives.

I would like to see several things accomplished..and I mean REALLY accomplished, not just lip service as we've seen before! Day one: #1. END THE WAR - #2.A meeting with ALL world leaders, discussing PEACE, Global Warming, and how we can help one another. #3. Single-payer health care. Get rid of all 3 major insurance providers and turn the whole system over to the government to run. #4.Veterans benefits & healthcare. Take care of the ones who have taken care of us. #5. Don't lie to us!

Send invitation to leaders in at least 50 countries to visit Washington on a particular day asap. They, and the UN chief, must visit the White House every day to find a solution to the contentious issues, such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and leave for home only after arriving at a consensus. The President should never take unilateral decisions that impact the world community and disturb world peace and progress. The White House should organise peace prayers by different religions on its lawns.

I want the next president to turn his/her back on corporate America and serve for the good of the American people. I feel so strongly that for anyone to attain the highest office,they must now sell their soul to the devil(corporations) so many times over that by the time they are in office their focus is on the needs of big business and the individual becomes absent through out the process.
