Lead America Into a New Energy Future
From Day One, the next president should have as their highest priority getting us off our addiction to oil, coal, and nuclear power. The president needs to lead America into a new energy future and pave the way for a 21st century energy economy, one based on high-performance, low-carbon technologies like solar wind and efficiency.

Look, I agree that oil and coal are not a part of any "energy future" but nuclear power should be considered extremely viable as a part of our future. Nuclear power plants produce no carbon emissions, create sustainable energy, and are already a source of energy in many areas of the US. Nuclear energy could also lead to advances in nuclear fusion, rather than fission, which could literally be the end to America's energy woes. Although waste is produced by fission, radioactice waste can be disposed of safely in a variety of ways, and is being done so now. Nuclear energy needs to be grouped with wind, solar and other non-carbon energies, rather than with old ones like coal and oil.
