Set a date for being free of nuclear weapons and ending poverty

The United States should set a date from which it will be both free of poverty and nuclear weapons.

i disagree. setting a date to end poverty or eliminate nukes is inviting one more failure. i would much rather have a president who's policies were based of what can be accomplished within his term. i am tired of seeing grand promises turn into crippling legacies for the next guy to clean up. i want us to remember that politics is a process but people are the solutions.

"and when nukes are outlawed, only outlaws will have nukes." Some scenario! I can just see Iran, N. Korea and Pakistan rushing to decommission theirs.

We can't even set a date for when we're going to get out of Iraq - why would we be able to do this. Also - I think we should always have a couple nucs around for deterrence - never know when they might come in handy.
