Shift Our Security Focus to Afghanistan
The United States made great strides to oust the Taliban and Al Qaeda and stand up the Afghan government after the invasion in October 2001, but the situation has deteriorated since 2005. The Taliban and Al Qaeda have regrouped and support the Afghan insurgency while strengthening their own capabilities. The Bush administration has portrayed Iraq as the central front of the central front of the "global war on terror," Afghanistan and the borderlands of Pakistan remain the central battlefield.

We need to shift our attention away from the mind-set of war and create a body of peace. With constant threats of more attacks, the issue is dealing with stress and anxiety from fear tactics. There are many ways we can all begin to learn the art of creating more peace and love, more compassion and understanding for all of mankind. It takes discipline and practice everyday. It is more natural to have a body of peace than a body of war and is so much more powerful in getting positive results. It is so much more worthy to take this route than to keep on pounding our "enemy" with more counter attacks. Remember what Robert McNamara said about the Vietnam war. It was unfortunate that we did not get to know better who our enemy was and what they are fighting for. We need more sincere and honest open dialogue about all issues up front with no secrecies and have true forgiveness of all that has been done in the past. We need to recognize and respect our enemies and their values that be different than ours. What is it going to take to get people to make this kind of connection? Are we going to continue warring against them until one side is totally beaten and obliterated to force them to come to their knees and make peace? Haven't we learned yet that forcing an enemy never works? This really has more to do with our individual regions and communities than a global problem. It starts with us as individuals taking the responsibility for our own actions and not handing it over to authorities to do things for us. We have to each learn to trust one another and give ourselves in service for the better of all people.
It should not be surprising that the 'ugly American' persona is alive and well. We are so arrogant about the US and how we have to skick our noses into everybodies business. If we can 'bribe' or payoff to get what we want that is fine. But we will "Show the Flag" at the drop of a hat and use force if neccessary to get the fixes for our 'addictions' yet we frown on any whom might have another 'type' addiction as though one is worse than the other. Take the profit out of drugs and the 'war' would be over and crime would drop like a stone. So freely flaunt and waste energy but want to kill or destroy anythiing that gets in our way of our 'precious' oill, so we can just piss it away because we 'can' afford it and nobody is going to tell a True American what to do. We do what we want and even tolerate a little anarchy here and there without a second thought. The US is full of selfish pigs and esp. the older ones whom are MORE entitled than everyone else. Go suck a lemon cause that is what you will get from this part of the most popular place on earth. Come one come all, we don't care about you...just be a consumer and shut the hell up.
