Be The Change That You Want To See

To encourage voting in the Texas Primary, Austin singer-songwriter Kat Edmonson ( http://www.myspace.com/katedmonson ) marched around the streets of Austin asking complete strangers, "What would you do if you were President?". The resulting video is a simple yet powerful montage of diverse Austinites writing and presenting their own colorful answers to the camera. Find out what Austin wants to see addressed On Day One.

I like the underlying theme of the song and the video, but I feel somewhat glad that ordinary people really never have a chance to rule the free world..why you ask?
Because saving the polar bears, ending poverty, "living wage for all", taking care of the elderly, rebuilding New Orleans ,and things of that sort are not legitimate functions of government, they are the exactly like the personal ambitions of Mr. G.W. Bush, this is just more of the same selfishness and thievery. It is unfortunate that people nowadays are so weakened, they believe that they cannot accomplish their wildest dreams privately so they instead seek to use force of government to control and support their cause, i.e. terrorism, global warming, extreme environmentalism, poverty, oil dependence. The only time change ever really occurs is when INDIVIDUALS take resposibility of a cause and privately take on their issue head first, oh and sorry, Barack Obama is not going to save America, he is just another politician. Too bad all the democrats think they are helping by using force of government to advance their platforms of socialized medicine and an unreal welfare state while at the same time chiding the Republicans for doing the same types of things, a little hypocritical don't you think. Just think of what an individual could do to advance a cause with all the money people THROW at politicians like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the amounts are just insanely ridiculous.
