Continue to place proper emphasis on developing and finding alternate energy sources. We need to set better priorities and focus our efforts. We can achieve great things if we set clear goals and utilize the proper resources to attain those goals
This is a great suggestion. It seems crazy that we put a man on the moon and toppled the soviet empire, but we can't put forth the effort to become energy independent. Not only are the environmental benefits huge, but the geo-strategic and geo-political ramifications would benefit us in unimaginable ways.
And president who's serious about security has to be serious about energy security. Frankly, I can't see a downside and like I said, I'm baffled at how this hasn't happened yet.
My car is electric. It works great, but you can't buy one. I had to make it myself because auto makers and oil companies are making a killing selling gas hogs that need parts until the day they die in a junkyard. An electric motor is forever; no oil, filters, belts, hoses, tuneups, pumps, starters, mufflers, no smog.
First presidential act for the environment: bold economic democracy. Open the shuttered auto plants, re-hire previously laid-off auto workers- to produce the withheld but often-promoted electric GMC Volt auto.
