Nuclear Energy is Not Clean

OD1, stop calling Nuclear Energy a "Clean" source of energy. It may not emit C02, but nuclear waste are some of the most toxic materials ever created. Its long terms effects on the world are not mitigated by a lack of greenhouse emissions. To reduce the effects of climate change (and rising cancer rates), our next president must stop call nuclear a "clean" power source. I doubt the people of Nevada consider nuclear energy a clean alternative to coal. Hydorelectricity... there's clean power!

The waste can be disposed off planet. There is plenty of storage room there.

Yeah, I'm sure that will never come back to bite us

If Futurama taught me anything, it's that I agree with Lip Service.

But seriously, I think Solar, Water and Wind powers are the best way to go. The cost/risks outweigh the benefits of Nuclear power. And I personally believe that the best resources are what Mother Nature and God provided for us from the start.

The storage of nuclear waste is obviously a major and serious problem for which, to date, we have no solutions. Sending it into outer space is a cute idea but the logistics of doing it without major disasters in the process is nil. It stays toxic for about 100,000 years. How lucky are you feeling today? (and how lucky are you feeling for your kids future, too?) Nuclear is a terrific idea until it goes wrong ... then it's a super stupid idea and everyone will be asking: "Why didn't my govt tell me this could happen?"
I believe that solar is about perfect. The power source is guaranteed (without it we needn't bother ourselves about anything). The only pollution is the manufacture and disposal of the panels. What prevents us from seeing the obvious?
