Transfering Excess Funds from US Defense Budget

I support Lester Brown's idea as written and charted in his book, Plan B 2.0. He points out that if we reduced our excessive defense funding by one-third and transfered those dollars to environmental actions, as well as endeavors to improve human education, health, and welfare, we could solve our stressed planet's troubles, globally!

There is no question that our investments in "defense" spending should be on a par with and not significantly greater than the "defense" budgets of other nations of the developed world. Our naational priorites are completely askew; and reprehesible.
