Congress should reconsider spending money on abstinence-only education and fidelity, which goes to waste when the women and young girls who suffer from the risk of HIV/AIDS are often not in a position to choose whether they have sex, with whom they have sex, or whether they use a condom.
On Day One, the new administration must take action to immediately end the genocide in Darfur and the U.S. occupation of Iraq, and to empower women and girls in order to protect them from the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.
On Day One of the new administration, the next U.S. president needs to protect women's human rights, guarantee every woman's right to health services, and make sure girls and women have the power to protect themselves against HIV/AIDS.
