New american maufacturing ( this time American Loyal), NEW solar/wind & water power plants, NOT nuclear, NEW fuels, sledge grass, bio-diesels, NEW american farming, food NOT in markets!, REFORM the american PEOPLE's govt! On Day 1, the new President should create a Department of the Environment. Most advanced nations have a ministry or department of the environment. We have the only the EPA, and many environmental issues are split between various program areas in different departments: Interior, Agriculture, Energy, etc. With a fully functional Department of the Environment, we can streamline environmental decision-making and demonstrate to the world that it is an issue we deem worthy of a cabinet-level position.

Develop a plan for prison reform. We imprison more people than anyone in the world, often for small offenses, and somehow, the real criminals seem to walk free. Our prisons are racist, classist, and sexist--improve mental care, do away with mandatory minimums, get rid of the "vice laws" that imprison people long-term for relatively small crimes, stop prison rape, and stop the privatization and corporatization of prisons.
