Money currently being directed to military operations should instead flow into rebuilding. Contracts are open to bidding, accountability is part of the plan, rebuilding happens on a reasonable budget and in a reasonable lenght of time. Infrastructure, hospitals, schools, everything which has been destroyed and which is vital for communities to function, must be rebuilt. This will help alleviate the massive traffic problems faced in so many places, reduce dependence on oil, reduce drunk driving problems, create a stronger sense of community among strangers, and help to alter the outdated patterns of development that are killing our country's natural beauty.
Present a plan to strengthen the nation's infrastructure; which will help lower unemployment and poverty. Cut the defense budget to help pay for these improvements and to get the troops out of Iraq.
