Transform Poverty Into Resiliency with Restorative Justice

Most poor people suffer from crime & social injustice in the US. Our current justice system, that mainly blames & punishes, increases poverty. Restorative justice is a democratic & strength-based approach to crime & social injustice. Hawai‘i has developed & measured restorative processes for individuals & groups & significantly increased optimism & decreased recidivism. Addressing crime & injustice with restorative justice can transform poverty & suffering into resiliency & healthy lives.

Talk to Local People!

On Day One, I'd like to see our next president talk to local people, in both the U.S. and around the world, and think of ways to actually gather good ideas to build local communities online. We need to look beyond big global issues and think about ways that people are trying to deal with problems like graffiti, crime, health care, and the environment on local levels. People usually think about these issues locally, but solutions can be shared, so I want to see the next president bring people together.
