Abe Lincoln believed that democracy stood for "rule for the people, by the people". So instead of vesting power in a small group of people, who can easily be bribed, threatened or tempted into making decisions which are not truly in the best interests of the majority, why not develop a quick, convenient yet sophisticated referendum-style electronic voting system wherein all people may vote directly on each major issue, having been given just the facts and without opportunity for propaganda spin?

Enroll your children in a public school. This simple act will do more to build our democratic foundation - the public school system - than any speech or initiative. There must be one good public school in Washington. If not, the school chosen to educate the first family's children will be transformed in a matter of days. The Clintons said they supported public education, but when push came to shove, they didn't.

Help--people on disablity income need money that won't be taken out of our monthly checks. Why give money to people making sufficient money to live on--with the current money being talked about in the STIMULUS PLAN--they may just go to Vegas, or some other exotic vacation--that does not pump money into the economy. Disabled people will buy clothing, or furniture, or products needed to survive. Everytime I see a Diamond commercial on TV. I gag thinking how extravagant a purchase that is. HELP
