Immigration Reform

ILLEGAL Immigratiion and the costs to States

Currently California (as in 10 other states) is confronted with an immediate $11.3 Billion shortfall. In the next 16 months the governor reports that CA will need $26 Billion. Each illegal alien child costs $11,000 to educate each year with an estimated 250,000 illegal alien children attending free public schools in our state. If California would immediately deny (which the courts say it cannot) education benefits there would be a partial saving of nearly $2 Billion. Next year $3 B. TOTAL $5B.

Tax on Alien Income

We must improve security on our borders while making it easier for Mexican Citizens to obtain legal entry into the country. I believe the unrealistic expenses ivolved are the foremost reason for illegal immigration. Rather than forcing these people to pay thousands of dollars to become legal resident aliens, we could offer some sort of deferment plan, deducted as a tax on monies earned in the US. Maybe 5% until all entry fees are paid and 1% on any further income until citizenship.
