On Day One of his term, the next president should start taking global poverty seriously. This is one of the biggest issues facing our country and the world, from both a moral and a security standpoint, so it should be part of the international agenda.

If the next president wants to work with others to combat widespread poverty across the world, he will have to reform a U.S. aid bureaucracy that is old and not fit to deal with today's challenges. On Day One, the next president should commit to modernizing foreign aid from top to bottom.

i'm happy about this and in the first day of the president in the office i will like it if AFRICANS in particular nigerian can also be considered i support this vision thanks.

On Day One, the next president needs to keep his promises to take on the suffocating poverty we see in the poorest places on the planet. Lead the way, and finally put an end to extreme poverty, and finish the job of erasing preventable diseases from the face of the earth.
