New fuels

For almost two centuries mankind has depended on mineral fuels, which pollute the environment. Fortunaltely, oil is getting scarcer and coal does not move cars nor planes. This situation has been contributing towards more imaginative uses of eolic, thermal, hidraulic and solar power. In another ten years, I hope Man will discover how to economically obtain hydrogen from water and develop H as a fuel for land and air transport.

We Need a "Manhattan Project" Type Commission For Energy Independence

Plans for energy independence do not seem to exist. If they do exist, where are they? Who is running them? Is he or she qualified for this task? Do we have the right people for the job? When will we be free of dependence on foreign petroleum? What does the U.S. Department of Energy do to make this happen? Can an economic meltdown from a predicted lack of energy be avoided?

END production of fossil fuel-burning cars within TEN YEARS

On Day One, the next President should announce that within ten years, all internal-combustion automobile production will cease. PERIOD. Ethanol and hydrogen cars are pipe dreams of the energy industry. The ONLY way to end our dependence on fossil fuels is to switch to electric cars NOW, and rebuild our national electric grid based on solar, wind, geothermal, and hydroelectric power. ALL subsidies to the energy industry should cease, as they've proven they're unwilling to do their part.
