I am deeply concerned by the power of this administration to create false pretences for a new terrorist or military event, committing the next president to a renewed involvement in militarism and perhaps pushing the election toward a military hero. I fear that decptions regrding the assumed success of the surge and silence on the illegalityand horror of the war, set us up for an October surprise.
