Tax reform

Incentivize good corporate behavior through taxation. If a company offers a head of household pay rate, insurance, and other factors that keep workers out of government programs, why shouldn't they pay less taxes than companies that push some of their responsibilities off their ledgers and into the pockets of taxpayers. A tier system would allow different industries, different expectations. Excessive executive compensation would likewise incur a higher rate. (Use Peter Drucker's "Management".)

End subsidies for cheap food that makes us sick. Our society needs to get back to sustainable agriculture. Small farms cannot compete with large, subsidized farms. A more balanced playing field would encourage people to purchase more healthy food. Real food, not cheap food-like products. How can a packaged amalgamation of ingredients be cheaper than the sum of its parts? Subsidies. AND food is very much connected with our health care crisis. I don't want my taxes to go to these unfair subsidies.

Set a national sales tax and end ALL other federal taxes. A sales tax taxes fairly and uniformly; there are no loopholes, no complicated forms, etc. If you want to make any exception, I would say groceries... maybe. One could argue that a sales tax discourages consumption. First, is that such a horrible thing? Maybe people will think twice before buying junk they don't need. Second, every tax discourages something. An income tax discourages getting a job or investing... etc.

Eliminate the income tax and give the American people the freedom to do what they want with their money and their lives.
