The FIRST thing the new president should do is enforce the anti-pollution laws and never again make clean air and clean water standards voluntary for industrial polluters. The EPA should make peace with Governor Schwartzenegger and let him enforce his tougher vehicle emission standards in California. Tougher standards should be adopted and enforced for the rest of the country, too, and a national standard implemented, with TEETH in it. Auto makers should be given time to retool, and federal hel

World Hunger and Overpopulation

The Reagan Administration slashed funding for birth control for impoverished, third would countries who already could not feed their swelling population. As result, Africa now has the world's most fearsome slums ringing all its major cities, as people who can no longer survive off the land are forced to seek work inm the cities. If we are going to send mosquito nets to prevent malaria, vaccines and other medicines to combat hepatitis, tuberculosis and AIDS, we have got to bring birth control!
