Announce reorganization of the Energy Dept into Technology Dept. Spin off Energy regulation to Commerce Dept. Focus on national R&D projects (civillian mostly & possibly some of Defense). Alternative Energy is top priority: instead of working with cozying to current energy leaders, incubate future alternative-energy leaders. Also pursue strong I/T leadership & upgrade Government computer systems. Possibly assist as CONSULTANT for State & Local I/T efforts (through working capitol fund?).

A Chief Financial Advisor

Appoint a executive-level & knowledgeable Chief Financial Advisor (like a CFO and free of the Treasury Dept duties). To focus on long term fiscal issues including tax streamlining; auditable Government Statements (including DoD); accurate economic indicators; and fiscal solvency of Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid. Would also advise President on Budget, thereby freeing President for other concerns.

US Renaissance

While acknowledging the contributions of religions, swear off divisive peripheral issues like abortion and gay rights. Focus instead on issues national consensus. Implement the Unified Security Budget (http://www.fpif.org/fpiftxt/4175) & Plan B 3.0 (http://www.earth-policy.org/Books/PB3/index.htm). Reaffirm Congress sole authority to declare war. Propose Biennial Budget for greater oversight. Repeal all in-effect executive orders over 1 year. Above all, apologize to UN & Iraq.
