Lets keep burning peak oil like gangbusters, enriching the Saudis & Iranians who hate the west even further, throw in some liquified coal CO2 for good measure, avoid taking any actions that might adversely effect Exxon/Mobil profits, and see what happens. We will need to keep track of how hot it gets, how much the seal level rises, how much the hurricane strengths & damage increase, how much drought intensifies and food production decreases, and of course we'll need to count the excess deaths.
The sequelae of anthropogenic global warming(AGW) are occurring at a rate faster than the IPCC predictions, and the Pentagon (not exactly a bunch of hippie liberal environmentalist) recognized the dire consequences of AGW on the US and its contribution to the rise of terrorism. They stated in 2003 "...recent evidence suggests the possibility that a more dire climate scenario may actually be unfolding." Famine, pestilence, economic collapse, and terrorism will follow AGW like night follows day.
